02A little inspiration, in pencil

Our first ideas looked like this.

An animal. A name. A personality. A few encounters. These are the actual handwritten notes from developing Gunner’s story — a little structure, with plenty of room for imagination.

Pass the idea around.

One person picks an animal. Someone else gives it a name. Let each person add something.

Try a silly voice.

How would your critter say hello? A voice can help a personality find its way into the story.

Let the ending surprise you.

You can change your mind, add a new encounter, or draw the next part instead. There’s no wrong way to begin.
